Steve Southards is the Lead Pastor of Salem Church of God in Clayton, Ohio. He is passionate about leading people to experience life in Christ and helping people live out their God-given potential. Steve believes the local church is the expression of Jesus to its community and has had the privilege of serving as a Student Ministries Pastor as well as a Campus Pastor at a multi-site church before his current role.
Originally from St. Louis, Steve grew up in a Christ-centered home and felt a call into ministry while in high school. This call led him to Anderson University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries. Steve is married to the beautiful Erin (Wiens) Southards. Their ten-plus years together have been a journey of discovering God’s gifting and passion in their lives, specifically as it relates to the local church and reaching those far from God. Their four kids: Payton (6), Colton (4), Presley (2), and Stetson (1) bring joy and chaos to their home. In between wrestling matches with the kids and changing diapers, Steve enjoys hunting and eating Kansas City BBQ.
